The good folks behind the public art project that plays Cupid between local and international artists and the security gates of LES businesses is bringing all that good lookin’ work indoors.
Kicking off this Saturday and running through the end of the month, 100 GATES takes over the Avant Garde Vapor Lounge and Art Gallery with more than 50 printed canvases of photos taken of their impressive stable of completed gates. The images will be arranged in a virtual wall map—so you’ll be able to “tour” the location of each metal gate within the neighborhood—all within a few steps. Peep the mural skills of the project’s founders, Jessica Blowers and Billy Rohan, as well as those on the ever-growing roster of participating artist, including Fumero, Faust, Damien Mitchell, Billy the Artist, and Claw Money collabing with Miss 17.
